Babatunji Wusu –

For attacking a man, six police officers from the Kwara State Police Command will face disciplinary action.

Police spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in a statement on his X account that the policemen and their Commander are currently at Police Headquarters in Abuja.

The officers attempted to drag the young man into their van while abusing him and calling him a “yahoo boy” (an Internet scammer), which was seen on camera.

Adejobi responded to the video at first after it was brought to his attention.

“Find them and bring them to Abuja, I’ve requested the Kwara comm. Most of the time, we have to handle odd cases like these, especially when the guys involved are difficult. There are at least 2 violations in this video that need to be explained, in my opinion. Thanks.”

Kwara State Police Command officers were recently involved in an incident in which they were shown in a viral video attacking a member of the public. In response to this, we have taken action. Such behavior is unacceptable and contravenes the Force’s guiding values.

“The questioned officers and their commander have reported to Force Headquarters in Abuja.

They will be subject to punishment after being reported to the Force Provost Marshal. We are still dedicated to sustaining the highest levels of accountability and professionalism throughout the force.
