A police officer from Anambra State who turned down a bribe from a transporter of stolen items has been given the sum of N250k as compensation.

When Inspector Charity Oyor, who was on duty in Onitsha, noticed a car loaded with wires, she became suspicious and proceeded to flag it down. However, when she was offered a bribe, she declined it and invited operatives, who later discovered the products had been stolen.

The Anambra State Police Commissioner, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has given a cash award of N250,000 to a policewoman working in the Main Market Division, Onitsha, according to a statement released on Saturday by the state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga.
