Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president of Nigeria, has arrived in New York, USA, for the UNGA’s 78th session.
On Monday, Tinubu touched down at John F. Kennedy International.
The Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN, Prof. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other government representatives welcomed him.
Rebuilding Trust and Reigniting Global Solidarity: Accelerating Action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals Toward Peace, Prosperity, Progress, and Sustainability for All is the subject of this year’s UNGA.
On September 19, the first day of the assembly’s High-Level General Debate, the President will deliver his inaugural National Statement.
He will participate in the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (UN 2023 Summit on SDGs) before the General Debate with other world leaders.
He will also take part in the High-Level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response and the High-Level Dialogue on Financing for Development.
He will also participate in the Climate Ambition Summit hosted by the UN Secretary General, the High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage, and the High-Level Panel on Reform of the Global Financial Architecture.
The primary decision-making body of the UN is the General Assembly.
It offers a singular platform for multilateral discussion of the entire range of international issues covered by the United Nations Charter because it is comprised of all Member States.
Every one of the 193 United Nations members states has an equal number of votes.
