Benfica won the Portuguese Super Cup for the ninth time on Wednesday by defeating Porto 2-0.

An effort from Argentine international Angel Di Maria in the 61st minute and one from Croatian immigrant Petar Musa seven minutes later gave defending league club Benfica the victory.

Pepe’s red card left Porto with 10 men to finish the game, and Galeno’s late score was disallowed as well.

In addition to winning their 38th league championship last year, Benfica earned a ninth Super Cup.
