Former Celtic and Scotland striker Frank McGarvey died on Sunday, aged 66, after a battle with pancreatic cancer, according to the Glasgow powerhouse.
“Everyone at Celtic is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former striker Frank McGarvey, who died earlier this morning at the age of 66,” a Celtic statement said.
During his two stints with St Mirren, McGarvey appeared in 341 games and scored 102 goals. He played with Celtic for five years in the early 1980s, winning two league titles, two Scottish Cups, and a League Cup.
He also played seven times for Scotland.
The club stated it was “deeply saddened” by the news of McGarvey’s passing and claimed he would be “forever remembered” there.
