Amos Utuama, a former Deputy Governor of Delta State and a respected Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has passed away at 77. Utuama, who served as the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, died early Saturday morning in Warri after a prolonged illness.

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori confirmed his passing and extended condolences to Utuama’s family, honoring his contributions to Nigerian law and politics. In a statement, Oborevwori praised Utuama as “a world-class scholar whose teachings have greatly impacted Nigerian jurisprudence.” He added, “On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I mourn a gentleman, scholar, and astute politician.”
