Justice Tanimu Zailani, the former Chief Judge of Kaduna State, has passed away. He died early on Sunday in Kaduna after a brief illness, as confirmed by family sources.
Justice Zailani served as the Chief Judge of Kaduna State from 2013 until his retirement in 2018. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in managing the state’s judiciary. According to a family source, Justice Zailani will be buried after a funeral prayer in his hometown of Rigachikun, located in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
In other news, Waheed Ayilara, the Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom, has also died. Ayilara passed away early on Thursday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja. He had recently undergone surgery for prostate cancer and died just hours after the procedure.
Previously, Ayilara had served as the acting Commissioner of Police in Lagos late last year. He was the former Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department and took over from AIG Idowu Owohunwa. After his stint as head of the Lagos Police Command, he was assigned to Akwa Ibom.
