Four people were burned to death when two buses moving in opposite directions had a head-on collision  along Owo-Benin Expressway in Ondo State on Thursday.

The Head of the Federal Road Safety Corps((FRSC) in the state,Olusegun Ogungbemide, who confirmed the accident  on Friday said the two buses involved in the accident on Thursday immediately caught fire.

Ogungbemide said the dead victims burned beyond recognition, adding that fourteen other people sustained varying degrees of injuries following the road accident.

The sector commander, who said injured victims were rushed to a government hospital in the area, added that preliminary investigation has proved that the cause of the accident was the violation of the speed limit by the drivers of both vehicles.

It would be recalled that On June 8, at least 18 people were burned to death in a similar accident in state.
