FPEDL Schedules Three-Hour Power Shutdown in Anambra to Install New Transformer

Nigeria’s FirstPower Electricity Distribution Limited (FPEDL) will cut power supply across parts of Anambra State on Sunday to allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) install its 60MVA TR13 transformer and reconfigure feeders at the Onitsha Transmission Station.

The planned outage will run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and will impact several major service corridors, including Army Barracks, Awada, Obosi, Umunya, Juddy Bolema, Nnewi Oba, Nnewi Industrial, Ossomala, 3-3, Niccus and Ogidi, as well as the Nwaziki 11kV and Woliwo 11kV feeders.

FPEDL said the shutdown is necessary to boost capacity and enhance power stability once installation is complete. The company urged affected customers to expect temporary disruptions and cooperate with the upgrade exercise.
