The masses are gearing up for the mass action demanding the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, scheduled for Monday, October 20, at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
These images capture scenes from today’s market sensitization and mobilization in the Federal Capital Territory, as supporters rally more citizens to join the call for justice and freedom.
The momentum continues to build as the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow movement moves from the streets to the national stage.
Also the online phase of the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow movement has officially commenced, marking the beginning of a coordinated global push for the release of detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nna
mdi Kanu.
From now until October 20, when supporters plan to march physically to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, activists and citizens worldwide are taking the campaign to digital platforms.
Organizers of the movement describe this as a “digital occupation for justice,” urging Nigerians at home and abroad to transform social media into a space of truth and peaceful resistance.
“This is an open call to all online protesters, activists, and allies everywhere to turn every platform into a space for truth and resistance,” the movement declared. “The message must be clear and relentless: Free Nnamdi Kanu Now.”
According to the group, the goal is to keep the demand for Kanu’s release alive and visible daily until the government ends what it calls his unlawful detention. Supporters are encouraged to post, share, tweet, and amplify the campaign across X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms.
“From today, the internet becomes our rally ground — a united digital front for freedom and conscience. We are online, we are everywhere, and we are unstoppable,” the statement added.
The movement hopes the online phase will galvanize momentum leading up to the #MNKOct20 physical protest in Abuja.
