Governor Siminalayi Fubara announced his upcoming presentation of the Rivers State 2025 budget to the State Assembly, led by Speaker Victor Oko-Jumbo. He emphasized the cooperative relationship between the executive and legislative branches to benefit Rivers State residents, pointing to swift actions on executive bills and nominee screenings.
Speaking at the opening of two new community town halls and a scholarship program in Bonny Local Government Area, Fubara, represented by Chief of Staff Edison Ehie, said, “We assure you that we will continue to work with the Assembly to ensure prosperity for our people.”
He commended the Speaker for empowering 100 local residents financially and awarding tertiary scholarships to 30 students, contrasting these efforts with the lack of local development by “Abuja-based” former lawmakers. Speaker Oko-Jumbo affirmed that the Assembly would focus on the people’s needs and ensure Bonny Local Government is prioritized in the 2025 budget projects.
