Mr Fuji Kawasaki, Rasheed Atanda Shanko has reiterated that, top fuji stars are the brain behind the defeat fuji music has suffered as against the continue rise hip hop music enjoys now.

Shanko without mincing words said, those at the top among fuji Stars aren’t looking out for others and this has really affected the genre of music in Nigeria.

Rasheed Atanda said, “In fuji music today, people especially those that are at the fore-front that people refer to as fuji stars aren’t there for the upcoming ones. They are the bane of our problems. Since the advent of Shanko Rasheed, Wasiu Container and others that came out when I got myself launched into the music arena as Fuji super star, who again has risen, nobody, because those that supposed to encourage us have taken it all. They do not create any opportunity for those of us struggling to get our feet.”

Mr Kawasaki continued that, “Nobody made me, non-amongst those that called themselves top fuji star today could boast of being there when we were struggling to make a name for ourselves. This has really affected fuji music adversely. They are selfish even to the extent that it was difficult for us to get music promoter because they have hoodwinked music promoters that were supposed to have us under their label. I made a name for myself and it was purely a self-effort. That is why it’s very difficult seeing another star around.”

Despite his dismay, Shanko said he has a great respect for Muri Thunder because of his love for those struggling to rise in the fuji world.

“Amongst those we could call top shot today in fuji music, Alhaji Muri Alabi Thunder is exceptional, he is better than most of those we see as great stars. He was there when we were trying to get our act together, that is why he remains different from the rest.

“In fuji music, you are to yourself nobody is willing to look out for you and it has been so bad. It’s a selfish act from people we could have seen as mentors and leaders and that is why it’s so difficult having a new fuji Act emerges all these years. Those that are up already do not want the rise of those coming behind and it has really affected our genre of music badly. He said.

In his reaction towards the status of fuji music today, Shanko said, “Fuji music will never die, but our people should keep on their lane, many of them today have veered into another lane, releasing hip-hop songs and abandoning what made them who they are is a slap on the profession.

“I do hip-hop song too, so as not to be left out, I am a dynamic musician and there is this word that says, if you cannot beat them, you better join them. I am good too in that aspect, but we need to keep to our lane and make it grow. Those we look up to, many of them have left their lane, running after hip-hop boys for duet. This is not cool, lets develop what we have for a better tomorrow.

“I could remember vividly what Late Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister told me, he made me promised me him that I will make sure fuji music thrives, and am using this opportunity to seek others, let’s work together and make this genre of music lives!

“I know no any other trade than fuji music, in this wise, I am available 100 percent for all kinds of social functions. Also, I am very active on different social media platforms where my followers get my updates”

Rasheed Atanda a.k.a Shanko ventured into music at early stage of his life, his first album came into being while he was still under the age of 10. He was a talent and many music lovers appreciated his effort for taking up such profession at that early stage of his life.
