The Kogi State Police Command has verified that on Monday in Lokoja, men attacked and stole petition materials related to the recently held state gubernatorial election, namely from Mr. David Umar Mike, the secretary of the state governorship election tribunal.

On December 6, 2023, in Lokoja, SP William Aya, the PPRO for the State Police Command, made this revelation.

According to the police, all of the petition materials submitted at gunpoint by the five political parties were taken by the attackers of the secretary of the state governorship tribunal.

The papers that were taken from Mike, according to the police, included two (2) record books and a bag holding his item, as well as petitions submitted by four (4) parties: Action Alliance (AA), Action People’s Party (APP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and Social Democratic Party (SDP).

The incident occurred on Monday at around 1320 hours, the police claimed, just in front of the CBN office.
