Gaise Baba, Omoni Oboli Lead YouTube’s 2025 Nigeria Year-in-Review Rankings

YouTube has released its 2025 Nigeria Year-in-Review, highlighting the videos and creators that captured the nation’s attention and drove massive engagement throughout the year.

Gospel artist Akinade “Gaise Baba” Ibuoye and Nollywood star Omoni Oboli topped the platform’s rankings, emerging as the most influential figures in music and digital content. The breakdown was announced in a statement signed by Addy Awofisayo, YouTube’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa.

Gaise Baba commanded the music category with his viral anthem “No Turning Back II” featuring Lawrence Oyor, which finished as Nigeria’s most-streamed music video of the year. Released in mid-May, the video surged across the country, amassing more than 41 million views in six months and fueling widespread fan engagement.
