Babatunji Wusu –
A woman whose identity was unknown at the time of publication has been taken into custody by the Rivers State Police Command in connection with the death stabbing of her boyfriend, Tony.
Grace Iringe-Koko, the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Rivers Police, verified the occurrence and the suspect’s detention.
It was discovered that on Friday, December 22, the incident took place in an estate near the NTA/Apara link road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
It was said that Tony and his girlfriend got into a fight when their dispute turned physical. Tony beat up his girlfriend, and she stabbed him in what appeared to be an attempt to defend herself.
According to a neighbor, Tony and his girlfriend got into a fight that fateful night after they had a disagreement. According to sources, Tony had been abusing the woman for a while, and this time, I believe the woman tried to defend herself by stabbing Tony in the neck.
No one was willing to break up their battle, so they continued and dragged themselves onto the street. Tony eventually lost a lot of blood from his wound and collapsed. He lost consciousness on the route to the hospital after being taken in an ambulance, and he passed away before they arrived.
“I’ve also heard that he and his wife in Enugu are going through a protracted divorce process, possibly as a result of domestic abuse-related issues.”
The Rivers PPRO confirmed the event by saying, “The incident happened.” The suspect is being investigated while being held by the police. As soon as the inquiry is finished, she will face legal consequences.
