Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), arrived at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos on Tuesday morning, July 25, where he will stand trial for alleged illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Emefiele, who was arrested by Department of State Services (DSS) agents at 9:21 a.m., is facing two counts of illegally having a single-barrel shotgun (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371).

According to Channels Television, Emefiele was arraigned before Justice Nicholas Oweibo, the vacation judge.

The report states that the apex bank’s suspended chief pleaded not guilty to the accusations leveled against him.
