Members of the African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM), led by Nigeria’s former President Goodluck Jonathan, observed polling stations across Gaborone on Wednesday during Botswana’s general elections. In a statement on X.com, Jonathan shared, “Out early on Election Day in Botswana, we…visited some polling stations in Gaborone, the nation’s capital city.” He emphasized that this election, the country’s 13th since gaining independence in 1965, represents a step toward strengthening Botswana’s democracy. Jonathan extended his best wishes to the people of Botswana for a peaceful and successful electoral process.
