The Nigerian gospel film world is grieving the loss of Moses Korede Are, affectionately known as “Baba Gbenro” in the widely loved Abattoir series by Mount Zion.
His death was announced by fellow actor Oluwaseun Adejumobi on Instagram, with the somber message, “Heaven’s Gain Again. A General Has Gone to Rest.”
Gospel actor Zoe Adeola also honored him on X, saying, “Rest in peace, Baba Gbenro. Your role in Abattoir will forever leave a mark on our hearts. So painful.”
Michael Adelakun, founder of Paramount Ministry, confirmed the news, revealing Baba had been struggling with diabetes. However, the exact cause of his death has yet to be confirmed.
