Nigerian gospel singer, Onos Brisibi, has passed away at the age of 55.

Her family confirmed the development in a statement released on Thursday, noting that the singer died on Tuesday, March 23, 2026, after a prolonged illness.

Describing her life and legacy, the family said Onos was a devoted Christian, a gifted vocalist, and a passionate praise and worship leader whose music impacted many lives.

“Onos Nancy Brisibi was a devoted Christian, a gifted songstress, and a passionate praise and worship leader whose angelic voice touched many lives as she spread the gospel through music,” the statement read in part.

They further described her as a warm and compassionate individual who left lasting memories with everyone she encountered.

“She will be remembered as a beautiful, fun-loving woman with a heart of gold, whose faith, warmth, and kindness left lasting impressions on all who knew her,” the statement added.

Onos is survived by her daughter, Sarah Brisibi, her mother, siblings, extended family, friends, and members of her church, LoveWorld Ministries.

Her death marks a significant loss to the Nigerian gospel music community, where she was widely respected for her voice and ministry.
