Tunji Wusu –
Yahaya Wilson, the chairman of the ANAN chapter in Gombe State, has expressed gratitude to the national organization for selecting the state for the fourth time to host such an important national event of the professional organization that aimed to develop and update member capacity for the best performance in the changing best international accounting practices through the deployment and application of technology in the nation.
Speaking on Tuesday in Gombe, Yahaya Wilson claimed that the organization’s hosting was not unrelated to the able efforts of the state’s governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who is known for his inclusive style of leadership and enormous support for the professional development of accountants in the state through events like the MCPD and ANAN conferences.
In addition to asking the Governor to look into the most troubling issues by approving professional allowances for professional accounting members, providing the branch with a vehicle to facilitate movement and transportation, and sponsoring at least five members each year to attend the World Congress of Accountants (WCOA), the State Chairman of the organization stated that the Association will not give up on its efforts to strengthen the confidence in its goals and abilities.
Wilson praised Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his remarkable transformation and performance over the past four years, along with other stakeholders like the National President of ANAN, Dr. James E. Neminebor, who was recently installed as the 13th President and Chairman Council of ANAN.
Additionally, a variety of presentations were given by professionals on a range of topics, including Dr. Ismail A. Olotu’s talk on the “imperatives of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement,” Dr. Niyi Solomon Awotonmilus’ discussion of “Transfer Pricing Issues and Challenges,” and Professor Jane Ande’s virtual presentation on “Foreign Exchange Management.” Professor Ndifon Ojong Ejoh’s lecture on “Impact of E-Naira on International Transactions” and Kabir Tahir’s address on “Current Developments in Financial Standards” were both incredibly insightful.
The three-day event began on Monday with participant arrival, was formally opened on Tuesday by Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who was represented by Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, and is anticipated to conclude on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
