- PWDs Prove Disability Isn’t Inability in Osun State
- Policy Reforms, Advocacy to Boost Inclusion, Says Adeleke
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has emphasized the immense potential of persons with disabilities (PWDs), urging society to focus on their resilience and creativity rather than their challenges.
Speaking at an event marking World Disabilities Day on Tuesday at Osogbo Grammar School, Adeleke commended PWDs for their achievements in various fields, including arts, sports, education, governance, and entrepreneurship.
Represented by his Special Adviser on Special Needs, Kamil Aransi, the governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to empowering PWDs through policy reforms, advocacy, and targeted programmes.
Adeleke, addressing the theme “Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disability for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future,” called for greater involvement of PWDs in all spheres of life. He noted that disability does not equate to inability, and their contributions are vital for building a more inclusive society.
