  • President Tinubu’s relief efforts include distributing over 12,367 bags of rice in Kaduna State as part of a nationwide initiative.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has commended the President Bola Tinubu administration for its unparalleled investment in agriculture, particularly over the past two years. Speaking at the distribution of presidential palliative relief materials at the Umaru Yarádua Conference Centre on Sunday, Sani noted that these efforts have been key in reducing poverty levels in Northern Nigeria.

According to Governor Sani, the poverty rate in Northern Nigeria, especially in the North-West, had been hovering between 65% and 70%. However, President Tinubu’s initiatives—such as fertilizer support, funding for smallholder farmers, and billions of naira in monetary assistance—have significantly reduced poverty and created jobs. These efforts are aimed at addressing the region’s infrastructure deficit and driving grassroots economic development.

Sani emphasized the importance of supporting President Tinubu’s grassroots development agenda, which he believes can only succeed with full autonomy for local governments. He argued that local government autonomy is essential to addressing poverty and unemployment effectively in Nigeria.

Highlighting Kaduna State’s commitment to agriculture, Sani stated that the sector contributes 43% to Nigeria’s GDP and employs approximately 60% of the workforce. He expressed the state’s goal of remaining Nigeria’s agricultural hub and fighting poverty through agricultural development.

Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, Political Adviser to President Tinubu, reiterated the president’s commitment to the welfare of all Nigerians. He also announced that over 12,367 bags of rice would be distributed in Kaduna State as part of a nationwide relief initiative. This effort aims to demonstrate the president’s empathy and proactive approach to improving the lives of Nigerians.

Masari called for transparency and fairness in the distribution process and urged community leaders and volunteers to ensure that the aid reaches those in need. He concluded by emphasizing that beneficiaries should use the support wisely and continue to stand with the government as they work together to overcome challenges.
