Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved the disbursement of vehicles to primary and secondary school teachers under a special loan scheme aimed at enhancing their working conditions. The initiative, which is funded with ₦200 million, is part of the governor’s broader plan to improve the welfare of public school teachers in the state.

In a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf explained that providing vehicles for teachers is a strategic move to improve their working conditions and encourage greater dedication to their duties. He further emphasized the importance of supporting teachers as the foundation of national development.

“Teachers are the backbone of every progressive society. Their welfare is non-negotiable if we must achieve quality education for our children,” Governor Yusuf said, highlighting his administration’s commitment to enhancing teachers’ welfare through various infrastructure and welfare programs.

The vehicle loan scheme is one of several teacher-focused policies included in Governor Yusuf’s education reform plan. Additionally, the state government recently spent ₦2 billion on procuring instructional materials for public schools, underscoring its commitment to improving learning environments across Kano.
