Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf swore in 17 commissioners, instructing them to be careful in carrying out their basic responsibilities.

On Monday, the ceremony was place at Kano’s Government House.

Yusuf stated that their nomination was based on integrity and precedent, and he asked them not to breach his trust.

The commissioners and their portfolios were as follows:

The Ministry of Local Government will be overseen by Alhaji Aminu Gwarzo, the Deputy Governor; Haruna Doguwa, the Commissioner for Education; Ali Bukar-Makoda, the Commissioner for Water Resources; and Dr Abubakar Yusuf, the Commissioner for Health.

Other commissioners are Marwan Ahmad, who oversees works, housing, and infrastructure; Haruna Dederi, who oversees justice; Dr. Yusuf Kofarmata, who oversees higher education; Nasiru Sule Garo, who oversees the environment; and Muhammad Diggol, who oversees transportation.

Similarly, Abbas Sani Abbas was appointed as Commissioner for Commerce and Investment, Hamza Safiyanu as Commissioner for Rural Affairs, Dr Danjuma Mahmoud as Commissioner for Agriculture, Musa Shanono as Commissioner for Budget and Planning, and Hajiya Ladidi Garko as Commissioner for Culture and Tourism.

Adamu Kibiya is the Commissioner for Land and Survey, Tajuddeen Othman is the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Baba Dantiye is the Commissioner for Information, Sheikh Tijjani Auwal is the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, and Aisha Lawal is the Commissioner for Women Affairs. (NAN)
