Babatunji Wusu –
In order to identify those responsible for the murder of Superintendent of Police (SP) Bako Angbadhim, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ahoada Divisional Police Headquarters in Rivers State, a group, the Centre for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEHUR), yesterday called for the release of embattled super cop, Abba Kyari.
The group expressed sympathy to the police officer’s family and friends and stated that his killers should not go free.
The imprisoned Kyari and his crew were regarded by the center as capable police who could utilize technology to find the individuals responsible for the heinous deed.
“CEDEHUR would like to extend his condolences to the bereaved Angbashim’s family and the Nigeria Police Force on his heinous murder,” the statement read.As a super cop in his own right, Angbashim did a fantastic job protecting Akinima and Finima while serving as DPO, to the point where both communities rebelled against his relocation. Additionally, he was assigned as DPO at the Bori Divisional Police Headquarters, where he also expelled the cultists and made the town of Bori safer. Because of his expertise in preventing and combating crime, he received a chieftaincy title and was consistently named DPO of the month between February and September 2023.
“Angbashim was later posted to Ahoada as DPO and he led his men to clear out cultists several times, including the very sad day he was ambushed and gruesomely murdered by cultists,” the group claimed.
In order to continue his intelligence- and technology-driven campaign against terrorists, kidnappers, bandits, cults, and other dangerous criminals terrorizing the populace, CEDEHUR urged President Bola Tinubu to free Kyari and his colleagues.
