Gunmen abduct two Plateau Corps troops, but one manages to escapeGunmen abducted two corps members on Thursday who were stationed in Plateau State’s Mikang Local Government Area.

According to sources, when the gunmen approached and abducted the two corps members, they were their route to a nearby pharmacy shop in the Zomo community in the LGA to purchase some medications.

The kidnapping of the two National Youth Service Corps men was reported to The PREMIER NEWS in Jos on Friday by Silas Christopher, a resident of the Zomo community.

However, Christopher claimed that one of the missing corps members, named Obinna Hailary, was able to flee while they were being hauled into the bushes by their captors.

They were two corp members who were abducted by gunmen in the Zomo community yesterday (Thursday), according to Christopher. They were on their way to a pharmacy shop in the evening when it happened. They were suddenly kidnapped when a group of gunmen—numbering around four—emerged from the jungle. But when they were being taken into the jungle, one of the corpers managed to escape in some way. That is all I can share with you on the occurrence.

The two corps members’ kidnapping was also confirmed by Alabo Alfred, spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command.

He claimed that security personnel had been sent to the area and were actively trying to save the last remaining corps member.
