Gunmen Attack Estate in Abuja’s Kuchibuyi Village, One Kidnap Victim Rescued

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the rescue of one kidnap victim following an attack by armed assailants on Grow Homes Estate, located in Kuchibuyi village, Byazhin, Abuja.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, May 26, at about 1:00 a.m., when a distress call was received from officers stationed at the estate entrance, alerting authorities to an ongoing attack and requesting reinforcement.

According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the attackers gained access to the estate by breaching the rear perimeter fence and abducted two residents.

Responding swiftly, police officers engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel that lasted approximately 40 minutes, leading to the successful rescue of one of the victims, identified as Chinyere Joe. However, the suspects managed to escape with the second victim.

In response, the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, has launched a manhunt to apprehend the fleeing assailants and ensure the safe recovery of the remaining abductee.
