The constituency office of Benjamin Kalu, the spokesperson for the House of Representatives, which is located in Osuakoli, Bende Federal Constituency of Abia, has been vandalized by armed individuals.
According to Kalu, the attack took place at around 10 p.m. on Friday, leaving the area in ruins and destroying everything in its path, including the APC flags and billboard.
The attack was a cowardly act by individuals who are terrified of his success in the constituency, the House spokesman told newsmen in Abuja on Saturday.
He continued by saying that even if they may have been successful in destroying the office, all the construction projects he attracted to the neighborhood would still be there.
According to Kalu, his office in Bende’s Osuakoli constituency was attacked on February 27 at precisely 10 p.m. and over 100 gunshots were discovered, shattering the windows and doors.
Other items damaged included the ceiling and the APC flag, which were torn down and destroyed, as well as my billboards.
The legislator said that security personnel were not present until after the shooters had fled, and he added that his assistants had reported the incident to Osuakoli Police Station.
He condemned the attack and those responsible, stating that violence must stop in order to progress the nation’s democracy.
The previous three and a half years, he remarked, have been devoted to using the infrastructure attracted by the President’s office to improve the life of my people. My political party has established itself in my federal constituency as the ruling party, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, health, and education.
“This was made possible because my representation placed the needs of the people first, offending those who wanted the status quo ante to continue,” I said.
