GWR: THE GOVERNMENT OF EKITI HAS BANNED A 72-HOUR KISSA THON.

The three-day Kising Marathon that was intended to break the Guinness World Record in Ekiti State has been declared illegal by the state administration.

The longest international kissing marathon, organized by a group known as Sugartee and advertised widely on social media, was set to begin on July 7 at a well-known amusement park in the state capital.

However, the state government warned that any venue that sponsored the tournament would face serious sanctions in a letter dated July 3, 2023, from the Ministry of Arts and Culture issued to the Ekiti State Hoteliers Association.

The proposed “kis-a-thon” event could damage the state’s reputation, according to the letter sent by the director of tourism, Adebanji Adelusi, on behalf of the permanent secretary of the ministry, Dele Ogunsemoyin.
