Halilu Buzu has been listed as sought by the Nigerian military due to his suspected involvement in terrorist operations, unlawful arms sales, illicit mining, and livestock rustling.
Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Operations, disclosed to the media during a briefing in Abuja that Halilu Buzu, a native of Niger, lives in a jungle in Zamfara State.
Buba claims that the suspect routinely flees to the Niger Republic after committing horrible crimes in Nigeria.
General Buba went on to say that in order to guarantee the capture of this terrorist, who has a sizable following, the armed forces are working with their colleagues from the Niger Republic.
In the last two weeks, the Nigerian Army has successfully freed 253 kidnapped victims, according to the military commander. Operations Y-Watch, Nokia-Fighting Patrols, and Operations Delta State all contributed to this accomplishment.
General Buba also highlighted the significance of defeating terrorism by reporting the killing of multiple rebels.
The military detained 529 terrorists and neutralized 227 others, he said. During the weeks under examination, eleven oil theft offenders were also taken into custody.
“We relentlessly target these categories of terrorists such that we will be able to take them out and take them off the battlefield as soon as possible.
“Soon, the fate of such terrorists will be decided. It will be violent and it will be short, and will stop at nothing to take them off the battlefield,” Buba noted.
