Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, was welcomed by chieftains and APC members in Imo State’s capital city of Owerri on Thursday.

In preparation for his primary campaign in the State in the coming days, Tinubu is in Owerri to address a group of private sector leaders, including investors, manufacturers, and merchants.

Although the town hall gathering was only open to the drivers of the aforementioned Southeast regions, thousands of party members turned up in the state just to see their presidential candidate.

Even though Tinubu had not yet arrived in Owerri at the time this report was filed, our correspondent saw considerable traffic congestion along the Protea Road due to the supporters’ presence.

The enthusiastic party members refused to leave even after the APC leadership in the State tried to explain that they would see Tinubu when he returned for campaigning the following week. As a result, the party leaders and the State Government were forced to make last-minute arrangements to keep them under canopies.

According to The Nation, happy party officials and supporters who arrived as early as 8:00 a.m. chanted and danced along Protea Road and in front of Landmark Events Centre, where the town hall meeting was set to take place.

According to Cajethan Duke, the Imo APC’s media secretary, the enormous throng was a sign of the party’s supporters’ enthusiasm and solidarity.

As you know, Asiwaju’s visit is not related to a rally. It is intended for Southeast manufacturers, traders, and industry leaders, as well as party candidates for the event’s numerous posts.

The party members present are solely demonstrating their support for the endeavor, and he assured them that as long as it involved Tinubu and the APC, they didn’t mind the sweltering heat.
