According to Sahara Reporters, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has sanctioned N2,040,780,000 for the purchase of cars for himself, his deputy, members of the House of Assembly, and other state officials.
The money was approved on September 5, 2023, according to state financial records that Sahara Reporters was able to get on Sunday. This is just one of the governor’s many dubious expenses, totaling more than N40 billion in just five months.
“N2,760,018,000.00 – Amount paid as measurement certificate no. 1 for the construction/rehabilitation of 16 no. Roads within Makurdi metropolis of Benue State (15.39km) (contract No. BSPPC-47/2023) ifo M/s Triacta Nigeria Limited” is the portion of the document that SaharaReporters partially obtained.
