Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has written a letter notifying the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus of his decision to quit partisan politics.
The letter also noted that Daniel’s resignation takes effect from March 14.
The Premier News recall that Daniel served as the Deputy Chairman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council (South) in the just concluded presidential election.
He had equally directed his supporters to vote for the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Dapo Abiodun in the last Saturday’s election.
His Media Aide, Steve Oliyide confirmed the development in a telephone chat with The Premier News on Saturday.
“Yes, it true. He wrote the letter”, Oliyide said.
“My decision in this regard is entirely personal to me and having served in various capacities, including as Governor of Ogun State, I have resolved to immerse myself in some other vocations and take on some new challenges,” Daniel popularly called OGD, said in the letter.
