The fans of Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, often known as the “Obidents,” have been compared by actress Chioma Ifemeludike as zombie-like followers who keep making the same mistakes.

She asserted that the “Obidient” movement was essentially a repetition of the same patterns and feelings that manifested prior to the election of outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, with the exception this time around of tribe and the “go and verify” mindset.

With their relentless attacks on everyone who backed or shared a different worldview than their own, she charged that they were mocking democracy.

In an Instagram post supporting Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) standard bearer, the actress urged followers to reject the “old order and political servitude” by supporting her candidate, whom she characterized as a young, energetic, and patriotic citizen.

“If you support Peter Obi, you are automatically welcomed, but if you don’t, you are considered as lacking rational reasoning,” she wrote.

“This kind of following is zombie-like, naw! Please note that this is not a movement of the mass force. #akaekpuchionwa.”

“All I see here are the same attitudes and patterns that were present in 2015, the year we elected President Buhari and his incompetent administration. Tribe and the “go and verify” syndrome are the only differences this time.

“If you are a member of us, you are a saint; if not, you are corrupt. If you are a member of us, you are reasonable; if not, you are unreasonable.

“So what does democracy look like without diversity? Why do we keep making the same mistakes over and over again? Why can’t we alter this outdated system!? Break free from this political servitude!

“I support a candidate who has made sacrifices for every tribe and religion, a man who has demonstrated a deep love for Nigeria, a man who has built a media platform that is well-known around the world, founded a political party, and fought for a seat at the table where important issues are discussed.

“A man who neglected his family in order to stand in for the oppressed majority of this nation. A fighter who will ensure that not even one of his men is left behind in the camp of his adversaries, and a guy who will be the first to speak up against injustice in this nation. an energetic, youthful, and patriotic citizen.

“If this is not the most sensible choice to make right now in a society that is sinking, then I don’t have much else to say to some of you foolish idiots…

“Elections will take place in a few days, and while I did my part, I urge you to be sure that any choices you make at the polls will benefit future generations as well as your own. Vote with your conscience to not join or receive points… Omoyele Sowore should be elected president in 2023.

#wecantcontinuelikethis #omoyelesoworeforpresident:2023.”
