The Inspector-General of Police has approved the redeployment of some senior officers across various commands and formations in the country as part of efforts to strengthen leadership and enhance operational effectiveness within the Force.
According to a police wireless message from the Force Headquarters, Abuja, Commissioner of Police Saka Adewale Ajao has been posted to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Gombe State.
The signal, issued by the Force Secretary on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, directed that the posting takes immediate effect and should be implemented without delay.
In a separate signal from the Nigeria Police Force Secretariat, Abuja, the Inspector-General also approved the posting of Commissioner of Police Miller Gajere Dantawaye to assume duty as the new Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command.
The message further indicated that Deputy Commissioner of Police Wilson Aniefiok Akpan has been provisionally deployed pending the approval of the Police Service Commission. It added that officers on higher duty posts should not wear the new ranks until their postings are formally confirmed by the Commission.
The redeployment circulars were addressed to all zonal commands, state commands, and specialized departments including the FCID, MOPOL, INTERPOL, and other operational units across the country.
With the latest posting, CP Saka Adewale Ajao is expected to assume leadership of the FCID Annex in Gombe State, while CP Miller Gajere Dantawaye will take over as the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command.
The Inspector-General expressed confidence that the newly deployed officers will bring their wealth of experience and professionalism to bear in the discharge of their duties, in line with the Force’s commitment to ensuring safety and security across the country.
