Babatunji Wusu –
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has proclaimed that he is not and will not be afraid to make difficult decisions throughout his tenure as long as they are in the best interests of the people.
The Nigerian leader stated that he is unafraid of the implications of his decisions, emphasizing his unshakable trust in Nigerians, which allows him to take bold steps on their behalf.
Tinubu made these statements while visiting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in The Hague.
Since taking office in 2023, Tinubu’s administration has adopted a number of new policies, including eliminating the petrol subsidy, floating the naira, and raising energy tariffs.
These measures have caused immeasurable misery for the inhabitants.
However, Tinubu restated his commitment to making difficult decisions for the development of Nigerians, emphasizing the significance of providing them with the tools they need for long-term success.
As a steadfast leader, Tinubu promised to emphasize actions that may cause short-term difficulties but will ultimately benefit the people.
He said: “We have gone through the worst of the storms. I am unafraid of the consequences once I know that my actions are in the best long-term interests of all Nigerians.
“The Nigerian Naira is one of the world’s best-performing currencies today. We took the necessary risk, and all resilient Nigerians kept faith with us.
“They will be rewarded, and the reward will only be greater as we partner effectively with you on new opportunities for development.
“As leaders, we must make decisions for the benefit of our nations, and we cannot shy away from that.”
