Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president, and Prof. Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, met on Thursday in the state’s capital city of Awka.

The two were spotted hugging and mingling after first meeting during the Thanksgiving service for Most Rev. Paulinus C. Ezeokafor, who was celebrating his 70th birthday.

This occurs in the wake of criticism that followed Governor Soludo’s remarks on Obi’s aspirations for the presidency.

When Obi was governor, he invested money in the state, but according to Governor Soludo, it is now worth “next to nothing.”

He then discounted Obi’s chances of winning the 2023 presidential election in a post titled “History Beckons and I shall not be Silent (Part 1).”

However, given that the Anambra governor was repeatedly called a traitor and someone who “needs to focus on government” in remarks from Obi supporters, many do not anticipate seeing the two reunion anytime soon.

Below are pictures of the couple.
