The Imo State Police Command has commenced the renovation of police stations that were damaged in attacks by criminal elements. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to improve security and police service delivery across the state.

In a statement released on Monday, DSP Henry Okoye, the Command’s spokesperson, revealed that the State Police Commissioner, CP Aboki Danjuma, has been inspecting key divisional headquarters that suffered severe damage. His aim is to assess the extent of the renovations needed.

The restoration efforts are supported by Governor Hope Uzodinma. On February 7, 2025, CP Danjuma visited the Ihitte-Uboma (Etiti) Police Divisional Headquarters, which had been extensively damaged in an attack. During his visit, he conducted a thorough security assessment and reviewed plans for the station’s refurbishment to ensure its operational readiness.

Earlier, on February 6, 2025, CP Danjuma, accompanied by Paschal Emeneze Obodo of the Agwa Central Union (ACU), inspected the ongoing renovations at the Agwa and Izombe Police Divisional Headquarters.

Renovation works are nearing completion, and plans are in place to redeploy officers to the affected divisions, reinforcing security in the areas. CP Danjuma also met with local stakeholders, vigilante groups, and community leaders, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in tackling crime. The police are committed to working closely with community-based security outfits to ensure peace and stability in Imo State.
