On May 10, 2023, the Ogun state police command detained 4 employees of a microfinance bank in the Abule Ijoko Lemode neighborhood of Ifo LGA in connection with the death of Vivian Omo, 50, the wife of one of their borrowers.

The Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident in a statement on May 14, 2023. He said the bank personnel were not pleased with the assertion that the man was not at home, so they attempted to flee with some devices, but the deceased wife objected.

“As the dead struggled with bank employees, one of them shoved her, causing her to fall and go unconscious.

She was subsequently taken to the hospital, but the attending physician declared her dead, according to Oyeyemi. The deceased’s daughter reported the event to the Agbado divisional headquarters, and detectives responded by going to the spot, where they arrested the bankers Badmus Olalekan, Ajibade Oludare, Eniola Aduragbemi, and Femi Oloko.
