According to the Edo State Police Command, an unspecified number of passengers waiting to board a train from Igueben in the state’s Igueben local government area to Warri in Delta State were kidnapped by suspected armed herdsmen.
According to the command, the incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Saturday, according to a press statement endorsed by its spokesman, Chidi Nwabuzor.
According to the statement, the suspected herdsmen, armed with AK-47 rifles, stormed the train station and hurled sh%t into the air before herding an unspecified number of passengers into the bush.
The statement also stated that some of the passengers suffered bllet wounds during the process, just as the Police revealed that bush combing and rescue operations had begun to rescue the victims and arrest the criminals.
