In the first eight months of the year, the NDLEA detained 761 alleged drug users and traffickers and seized 11,000kg of illegal substances in Kaduna State.

On Monday in Kaduna, its state commander, Mr. Umar Adoro, informed the News Agency of Nigeria that 725 of those detained were men while the remaining 36 were women.

He claimed that although 610 of the accused used drugs, 480 of them had undergone counseling, rehabilitation, and reintegration into society.

“We arraigned 151 of the accused; we got 69 of them convicted, and we still have 82 of them awaiting trial,” he stated.
