The Nigerian Army’s 1 Division claims to have killed a bandit and recovered an AK 47 gun and ammunition near Kaduna.
In a statement made on Wednesday in Kaduna, the Division’s Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Lt-Col. Musa Yahaya, confirmed the development.
On Wednesday, forces acting on credible intelligence ambushed a bandit route on the Kwant-Kabai-Kubusu road, according to Yahaya.
He continued by saying that one bandit was neutralized during the raid and the ensuing gunfight, while others fled with bullet wounds.
He said, “We recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, veterinary medication, and clothing.”
According to Yahaya, Maj.-Gen. Valentine Okoro, the General Officer Commanding the Division, praised the soldiers for their tenacity and urged the populace to provide security services with accurate and timely intelligence.
