Ashfa Ibrahim, 14, drowned on Monday in an open stream at Danzaki Village in Kano state’s Gezawa Local Government Area (LGA).

This is stated in a statement made accessible to journalists in Kano on Tuesday and signed by Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, the state fire fighting department spokesperson.

According to the statement, the tragic tragedy happened on a Monday afternoon.

He stated, “We received a distress call from one Ibrahim Abdullahi and we sent our rescue squad to the location but the victim was pulled from the stream unconscious.”
He continued, “A team of medical professionals from the Gezawa General Hospital later certified the person dead.”

He claimed that the victim fell into the open sea after slipping and suffering injuries to his body.

He claimed that the body had since been given to Muhammed Abdulkarim, the ward chief of Danzaki Village, who would then deliver it to the deceased’s parent for burial.

The police have been tasked with conducting a covert investigation into the incident to determine its cause and choose the best course of action.
