IN KANO, A FIRE DESTROYS 37 STORES.

A fire breakout at the Zawaciki region of Kumbotso Local Government in Kano State, according to the Kano State Fire Service, has destroyed 37 stores.

The incident happened on Wednesday at around 01:37 am, according to the Service’s spokesman, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, who talked with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

“At approximately 01:37 a.m., we received a distress call from one Malam Baba that there was a fire outbreak at Zuwaciki,” stated Abdullahi.
“At approximately 01:47 a.m., we promptly dispatched our personnel to the scene and extinguished the fire to prevent its spread to other shops,” he stated.

According to Abdullahi, the 37 stores were located on a multipurpose building’s ground floor.

He said that the fire had caused minor damage to three other shops.

He claims that no lives were lost and that the fire’s cause is being looked into.
