An angry mob cut off one of the thugs’ wrists as he fled the scene after he attacked some traders beneath the Iganmu bridge in Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area of Lagos over the weekend.

Police officers assigned to the Badia division detained five additional gang suspects.

The Police found the police suspect’s severed wrist and several charms.

Over 20 hoodlums, according to eyewitnesses, stormed under the bridge after some of the traders had closed for the day. According to reports, the armed thugs robbed their victims of money and other valuables.

The traders explained that “they came by 7.30pm when most of the traders had left,” one of whom simply identified himself as Salisu.

The assault went on for about 30 minutes. When they heard that the police were approaching, they fled the scene carrying their loot and went in the direction of the nearby Ajeromi Primary School.

But one of them managed to flee the scene before the police arrived, and was then apprehended by the angry mob, brutally beaten, and had his left hand severed.

“We informed the police of the hoodlums’ route when they arrived. Five of them were captured as they were being pursued.

According to police sources, the suspects were wanted for allegedly being involved in the two-year-old #Endsars crisis’s destruction of the Orile Police Station.

When the suspect was brought to the station with his wrist severed, other team members recognized him as Sodeeq.
