The opposition political parties have allegedly continued to destroy Bankole Wellington, better known by his stage name Banky W, and his campaign billboards throughout Lagos.
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Banky W, who is running for a seat in the National Assembly’s lower chamber, was furious as he shared a video of his campaign signs and roll-up flex being taken down by individuals he believed to be affiliated with the state’s opposition parties.
On Friday, Banky W used his social media accounts to express his displeasure with the act and to call Nigerians’ attention to it. He claimed that his opponents were doing everything in their power to thwart his efforts.
Banky W stated that they can only “bully and suppress us,” but that it will not work. It is unjust, but it will not succeed. Join us in our cause. Fight alongside us. We need to win this election.
“We have instructed our supporters not to deface public property but the challenge is that when we put up boards and flex banners, overnight they send boys to remove them. As a result, our people revert to pasting posters, but we are forced to do so.
“Drive around Eti-Osa and figure out what happened to them. We used to have the most billboards, but now we have almost none because they keep destroying them, but they are not prepared for that conversation. “We’re still moving,” he added.
