The Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi is running for governor of Delta State on March 11; he has urged voters to support him in his bid to unseat the PDP, which is currently in power.
He delivered the speech in Asaba, Oshimili South local government area, where he pledged to use everything at his disposal to restore the state’s glory, especially with the backing of Peter Obi’s throngs of followers.
The former minister of state for education pleaded with Deltans to vote SDP in 2023 in order to eliminate the PDP’s decades-long incompetence in the state and warned them to prepare for the coming industrial revolution.
“Send me a year. More prosperous than more than 34 nations worldwide, this state is the richest in Africa. I am the candidate to vote for if you genuinely want your industries rebuilt, which I can do. I am the candidate to support if you genuinely want your schools to be revitalized and your teachers’ wages paid on time.
“I am the candidate to vote for if you want your hospitals to have medical supplies, tools, and medications available for dispensing. Vote for me if you want to get rid of all these retirees who are dying every day without receiving their pensions and gratuities.
Gbagi, who also garnered praise from the young people, said, “I am the one to vote for if you want openness, to see how your administration is run, how transparent it is.
In Delta State, an emergency exists. Let’s applaud the Obidients. This was the first time the church has spoken out against poor leadership. took money from the PDP and APC and voted against them. You have taken your stolen money.
“In order to create jobs, I’ll replace Asaba’s Onitsha Market and reopen the Asaba Textile Mill. I will proclaim all stages of higher education free. I will use my business mentality to turn the fields in Isoko into rice mills. Our hospitals will operate at their best.”
