In the Niger State local government area of Borgu, eight passengers have been abducted, and a bus driver has been shot dead by bandits between Luma and Babanna.

According to locals, the event occurred last Saturday.

They added that, in order to free the victims, the kidnappers wanted N17 million in ransom.

The victims were reportedly on their way to Borgu Kingdom to install the head priest and chairman of the kingmakers.

Alhaji Sulaiman Yerima, the Borgu Local Government Chairman, acknowledged the occurrence and called it regrettable.

Additionally, he verified that the abductors had requested N17 million in ransom before the victims would be freed.
