Oyenekan Oluwaseyi, pastor of the Christ Liberty Evangelism Church, and three others were detained with a human skull in Abeokuta’s Saje Area by the Ogun State Police Command.
Oluwaseyi was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, along with Ibrahim Agbowewe, 30, Suleiman Ogunbunmi, 40, and Gafari Akinsanya, 57.
According to a command source, the suspects were apprehended after members of the public reported their unusual movements and activities in the region.
Police were believed to have rushed the scene following the intelligence and apprehended the culprits, who said they intended to use the skull for rituals.
Three items were found on the suspects: a ram, a black Toyota Camry, and a large calabash.
The four suspects had confessed to the crime, according to state police public relations officer SP Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the arrest.
