Four members of a robbery gang with roots in Lagos who have recently terrorized Ogun State’s Ode-Remo region have been detained by Ogun State Police Command agents.
The suspects were detained on March 13, 2023, according to the spokesman for Ogun State’s command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who made this information public in a statement made accessible to media in Abeokuta, the state’s capital.
Habeeb Salaudeen, 24, Ezekiel Jayesimi, 30, Olamilekan Teniola, 22, and Olaitan Sonibare, 25, were among the suspects named by Oyeyemi.
He continued, “The suspects were apprehended in response to a distress call received by policemen attached to the Ode-Remo divisional headquarters at around 2:30 am, that armed robbers numbering about seven had invaded a dwelling house at COTCO road, Ode-Remo, and disposed of the residents’ possessions.”
“The DPO Ode-Remo Division’s CSP Fasogbon Olayemi immediately took his troops to the area after hearing the distress call. They engaged the criminals in a gunfight when they arrived, but the thieves were able to flee in the white Rav 4 car they had brought.
But, their good fortune ran out when they were stopped by police officers in Warewa after they noticed a bullet hole in their car.
“The robbers then fled from the automobile after abandoning it.”
They were ‘technically tracked’ to Lagos’ Mushin neighborhood, where four of them were caught.
“They have all admitted to carrying out the crime,”
Four I phones and thirteen Android phones were among the items retrieved from them.
The suspects are currently being sent to state criminal investigation departments for a covert probe, said Frank Mba, the state commissioner of police.
To find the other gang members and bring them to prison, the CP also ordered a huge manhunt.
In light of the aforementioned, we now announce to the Zonal and National Executive Committees of our party, as well as the general public, that following his suspension, Hon. Muritala Yakubu (Ajaka) is now prohibited from taking part in any party events.
